Hello ppl. Yeah I'm still alive. I'm here to tell you that I'm going to delete this journal for good...yeah I know, it's hard for me because there are years of memories and all, actually started 2006, boy what a time, met so many people, experienced so much joy and excitement but also drama and disappointment, many people left but I also made a few friends for life (very few), we were a really big community, a strong one…I had a really good time here, maybe spend too much time^^ but it was fun. Unfortunately the era is over, I gave it a few more tries to run this journal, but it was never the same again, the new people have too different interests, it was very hard to participate in anything since then. I never wanted to delete my journal because of sentimental matters, but I realised there is nothing left for me here, you never know if the people who are left will ever come back here, it's an empty place for me, a baggage from the past I don't want to carry anymore, I'm in a phase of my life where I clean up, heading for minimalism and simplicity and reducing my internet activities and I really want to close this chapter.

I have changed, I really have. I'm not the person I was back then, other things are important now, and real friends will always be there no matter what, I trust in that. I won't be missed here and I'll still have Facebook, join me if you want to stay in touch, anyhow. I'll do some selling here on LJ and then delete it in 1 or maybe 2 months, I don't know yet…lol it will be hard but hell, it has to be done :)

This place will always be in my memories <3

French Women Don't Sleep Alone: Pleasurable Secrets to Finding LoveFrench Women Don't Sleep Alone: Pleasurable Secrets to Finding Love by Jamie Cat Callan

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I'm not in mood for a long and deep review so quick summery:

First I didn't really like it, I only read how perfect, and intelligent, and seductive French women are, with no exceptions…and how all men fall for them. Good so far, but what disturbed me was that the behaviour described in the book was related (only)to French people, and though the advices were good but in a different country some of the advices would be useless. French have a pretty unique mentality so it's difficult to be like a French woman in other countries, where men have different expectations.

But.

I still loved this book, I'm very into the topic of French lifestyle and all, at the moment, and the book gave me what I wanted as I started to read it: a lot of practical advices. It's a quick read and it hits the point without long anecdotes and stories about the author. I really liked how it described the way French women love and take care of themselves….how to love your body and your life, how to enjoy yourself and have fun in an easy and pleasurable way, no matter if you want to flirt or keep your marriage exciting.

I will definitely read this book again simply to remind myself being more sensual and enjoy life, I've never made so many marks in any other book before haha!

Note: English is my 3rd language so don't mind grammar and style, I'm still learning ;)

French Women Don't Get Fat: The Secret of Eating for PleasureFrench Women Don't Get Fat: The Secret of Eating for Pleasure by Mireille Guiliano

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I'm in a phase where I deal a lot with food and healthy diets. I wanted some light reading and learn something about enjoying food and the secrets of French women, because I adore the French lifestyle. I enjoyed this book, it was really nice, but I haven't learned as much I expected, it's more about visualising things we already know, how to slow down, don't regret but enjoy and be happy. No one needs to be told to eat smaller portions or more veggies to loose weight but sometimes it's good to be reminded about it with such a nice book.

The personal story of the author is interesting and inspiring, it really made me enjoy my meals more, try to recognise the ingredients by taste and drink some wine from time to time, but one thing disturbed me… there are a lot of recipes in the book, which sound good but as a vegan on a sugar-free diet it's unusable for me, I skipped the pages very quickly. I was also amazed by the fact the author tells us to eat a lot of dairy especially yoghurt, since it's a fact it's the biggest cause of weight gain and cancer. So I couldn't take this book too serious but I enjoyed it anyway and since I lost 10kg by a healthy vegan diet I wasn't reliant on the main information about losing weight.

It might help some people who want to change their relation with food, but one shouldn't take it too serious and be sceptic at some points.

Skinny Bitch: A No-Nonsense, Tough-Love Guide for Savvy Girls Who Want to Stop Eating Crap and Start Looking Fabulous!Skinny Bitch: A No-Nonsense, Tough-Love Guide for Savvy Girls Who Want to Stop Eating Crap and Start Looking Fabulous! by Rory Freedman

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I've read this book with no expectations, I was vegetarian before with tendency to vegan, so I didn't look for a book that helps me become one, but I believe this is what this book does very well. I read it because I wanted to learn more about healthy food/living and loose weight, but I've learned a lot more. Actually I already knew a lot so it wasn't a life-changing lecture for me but I'm sure it would be for other people who just started learning and are interested in making the world a better place or don't want the industries to manipulate and poison them.
This book is like a punch in the face, says how it is, I realised there are many people who can't deal with such brutal information and that's why this book splits them to those who love it and those who hate it.
I believe the cover and title aren't proper for this book, because it hides the lies and cruelty of the world behind a diet book, but it's okay, the author said it herself, it's for the attention, for materialistic and superficial people who would never give a shit what's happening out there.

In my opinion a masterpiece, everyone should read it.

Do not commiserate yourself for what you are (not) and do not envy others for what they are, accept everyone you meet along your way as a teacher and you will be the person everyone looks up to.

Maybe I should announce a hiatus now, so I'll have an official LJ break without any sense of guilt or whatever that tells me everyday "you're neglecting something/someone".

So, see you soon.
